MACE 2016 Cornerstone Game: Hull Breach Card Game
MACE 2016 will once again host a full weekend of Hull Breach card game. See OGRe for times!
Hull Breach! is a tactical card game that combines everything you love about Sci-fi with everything you love about card games. Hull Breach!(C) was developed by Not-So-Broken Games, Inc., a company of gaming enthusiasts and combat veterans.
Each player has his or her own deck of cards consisting of a Station, ships, modules, Marines, technological breakthroughs, events, and tactics. Players compete head-to-head to destroy each other’s fleets and space station; the last player or team standing is the victor.
This year is a little different for Hull Breach – We are excited to announce that development is complete, and we are launching our Kickstarter campaign for our third Box Set – In Defiance of Dictators – just after MACE West! As of this Proposal, I hope to have print-and-play copies of the new decks by MACE West, for a first look to the public. We hope to have a massive presence from our Operative network of demo teams, and possibly even our lead designer, Dan Auxier, present for the Con!
In addition, we will be running demos of all three box sets – Corporate Wars, Loyalty and Vigilance, and the new I.D.O.D., plus our made-for-MACE Scenario Game, Hammer’s Fall. (More on that in a separate proposal if needed)
About Hull Breach
Hull Breach is a sci-fi cards-and-dice game featuring epic space combat between ships, firefights between Marine boarding parties, and plenty of clever tactics and galaxy-shaking events. You command of a space station belonging to one of our several in-game factions and fight it out with one or more other Commanders to achieve galactic domination! The object of the game is to protect your Station – your home in space – from other Commanders while trying to capture or destroy theirs. Be warned – they’re trying to do the same thing to you. It’s a tough galaxy and at the end of the day only one Commander gets to remain standing.
Best of all, while we encourage customization and deck-building, this isn’t one of those “collectible” card games that will have you tearing through randomized foil packs of cards to find the ones you want. Hull Breach plays right out of the box and you’ll know where you can find every card in the game without having to drop a ton of space-cash on boosters or turn to the secondary market to field a competitive deck.
