More fun than Hearts and Rummy, award-winning Wizard is “the Ultimate Game of Trump” the whole family can enjoy. The rules are easy to learn — the strategy adds an exciting challenge. In Wizard, players try to win the exact number of tricks they bid.

The Wizard deck is similar to a regular deck of playing cards with the addition of four Wizards and four Jesters. Jesters always lose and Wizards always win. In the first round, players start out with one card. In the second round, players are deal two cards, and so on, with each round becoming more challenging. When you make your exact bid, you earn points. If you take too many or too few tricks, you lose points. The special, custom Wizard Score Sheet helps players keep track of bids and points. Wizard Card Game can be played with 2-6 players. Instructions are in English, French, and Spanish.

Dimension is a fast-paced, innovative puzzle game that takes place in three dimensions with 60 colorful spheres. All of the players play at the same time. Everybody tries to position the spheres on their trays to earn as many points as possible. The task cards indicate how the spheres must be placed to earn points: for example, exactly two orange spheres must be on the tray, black and blue must touch each other, and blue must not touch white. Complete these tasks while racing against the timer. You get a point for each sphere you use and a bonus token for using all five colors, but you lose two points for each task card you don’t follow correctly. Prove to your opponents that you are the master of multi-dimensional thinking!

Lost Cities

Who will discover the ancient civilizations?

Two explorers embark on research journeys to remote corners of the world: the Himalayan mountains, the Central American rainforest, the Egyptian desert, a mysterious volcano, and the bottom of the sea. As the cards are played, the expedition routes take shape and the explorers earn points. The most daring adventurers make bets on the success of their expeditions. The explorer with the highest score after three rounds of expeditions wins. The rules of the game are simple, but beware: The lost cities hold many unseen mysteries!

About Artemis Spaceship Bridge Simulator

Artemis Spaceship Bridge Simulator lets you turn your living room into the bridge of a spaceship. You and your friends assume the jobs of Captain, Helm, Science, Communication, Engineering, and Weapon Control. Together you operate your ship and defend the sector from evil aliens.

Artemis simulates a spaceship bridge by networking several computers together. One computer runs the simulation and the “main screen”, while the others serve as workstations for the normal jobs a bridge officer might do. Artemis is a social game where several players are together in one room (“bridge”) , and while they all work together, one player plays the Captain, a person who sits in the middle, doesn’t have a workstation, and tells everyone what to do.

Play to Win: More Games

Thanks to Double Exposure Inc, and the publishers (seen below) of these games, we have the following for Play to Win at MACE 2015

Ultimate Werewolf

Bezier Games, Inc.

Ultimate Werewolf on BGG

Ultimate Werewolf is an interactive game of deduction for two teams: Villagers and Werewolves. The Villagers don’t know who the Werewolves are, and the Werewolves are trying to remain undiscovered while they slowly eliminate the Villagers one at a time. A Moderator (who isn’t on a team) runs the game.

Ultimate Werewolf takes place over a series of game days and nights. Each day, the players discuss who among them is a Werewolf, and vote out a player. Each night, the Werewolves choose a player to eliminate, while the Seer learns if one player is a Werewolf or not. The game is over when either all the Villagers or all the Werewolves are eliminated.

Ultimate Werewolf, a new edition of the award-winning, best-selling werewolf title from Bézier Games, has been reimagined to allow new players to quickly get up and running, with a larger box, totally rewritten and simplified rules, and a guide for the included roles. With all-new art and a great new card design, it’s the perfect way to introduce groups of 7-30 people to Werewolf.

Bad Medicine

Rules at:

Formal Ferret Games

badmedicineIn Bad Medicine, you and your opponents are huge pharmaceutical companies. Your goal is to create names and advertisements for new drugs to cure the current Malady, while downplaying any side effects the folks at the lab may have discovered.

Did we mention your company is huge? It’s huge enough that the people who formulate the drugs and the people who pitch the drugs don’t really talk to each other, so don’t be surprised when the person pitching your company’s drug is just as surprised as everyone else when she sees what it actually does…

Each card in the game has a little bit of a drug name, a little bit of a description, and a side effect. There will be one card dealt in the middle of the table; its side effect is the malady to cure this round.

In a 3-4 player game, each player gets seven cards, and chooses three cards for their drug names and two cards for their descriptions. Once everyone has chosen their cards, everyone pitches their drug in turn. While one player is making his pitch, the other players pass a card to the pitching player. The pitching player chooses one card to incorporate into his pitch as a side effect, and explain why it’s not as bad as it sounds. The player whose side effect got chosen gets a point!

In a 5-8 player game, players split off into teams. One player on a team gets six cards, and chooses three cards for their drug names, two cards for their descriptions, and one card for its side effect. He passes them all face-down to his teammate, who won’t see the cards until she starts her pitch!

After all players have made their pitches, everyone votes on their favorite drug. Players score points for getting votes, and teams rotate every turn. The player with the most points after four rounds wins!

WELCOME TO DARK MOON. The Noguchi Masaki interplanetary mining corporation welcomes you to its outpost on Titan, the dark moon of Saturn! You will be joining an experienced crew of miners, technicians, and adventurous souls who live to experience all the wonders that our solar system has to offer. Purpose, loyalty, camaraderie, friendship, and sacrifice all await you as a new and valued member of the Noguchi Masaki family!

DARK MOON (formerly known as BSG Express), is a game of deception and betrayal at the cold edge of space.
You are a crew member on a deep space mining expedition to Titan, the dark moon of Saturn. During a routine excavation, an “incident” occurs whereby some of the crew become infected with an unknown virus, and become paranoid, deceitful, and violent, trying to destroy the others.

At the start of the game, players are divided into two teams: Uninfected and Infected. The Uninfected team simply needs to survive until the end of the game, while the Infected team secretly attempts to destroy them. Each player knows which team they are on, but does not know which team the other players are on! Who is your teammate and who is your enemy? Can you trust your best friend? And why doesn’t anyone trust you when you tell them you’re one of the good guys?!
Roll dice, overcome traumatic events, throw your friends in quarantine when you don’t believe them, and (if you’re Infected) betray everyone at just the right moment to secure victory!

Foursight Games at MACE 2015

Foursight Games will be running demos of their game Fate of Akalon: Tribes at MACE 2015 this year. We are excited to welcome them to their first MACE.

About Fate of Akalon: Tribes

For fourteen years The Great Storm has raged across the continent of Akalon. The scalding winds of the ever- growing storm turned the once lush heart of Akalon into a barren wasteland. Driven to the edges of their world in order to survive, the tribes of Akalon now find themselves engaged in a battle to decide the fate of Akalon.

In Fate of Akalon: Tribes 2-4 players control one of the tribes of Akalon (Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, and Undead) by playing cards from unique decks, tailored to the strengths of each tribe. Players play cards to a common battlefield, and after resolving card effects determine the total combat value of their side. Losing cards go off to the cemetery, while winners march triumphantly to the discard pile. Accumulate too many cards in the cemetery, and you lose the game. How well you play will determine the future in Fate of Akalon: Tribes.

MACE Settlers of Catan tournament

MACE 2015 is hosting another Settlers of Catan tournament, for casual play.  We are working on prizes but at the very least is  a copy of the game. The tournament will take place Saturday night 8pm. It will be tournament style with 3 rounds and the most wins using cumulative points to determine tie breaker.

About Settlers of Catan

Picture yourself in the era of discoveries: after a long voyage of great deprivation, your ships have finally reached the coast of an uncharted island. Its name shall be Catan! But you are not the only discoverer. Other fearless seafarers have also landed on the shores of Catan: the race to settle the island has begun!

Buy a Little Luck Charity – Bring your dollars!

Since MACE 2015 starts on Friday the 13th, we have decided to do something different.  We are calling it Buy a Little Luck charit.  It is for all RPGs sessions on Friday November 13 ONLY.  This includes Dungeons & Dragons Adventurers League and Pathfinder Society.

Our plan is to have donation buckets at each table that the GM/DM is in charge of.  Bring your dollars because for $1 you can buy a reroll or Savage Worlds benny (with GM approval).  For D&D AL, you can buy a reroll with advantage for $2.

All proceeds will go to one or more of JustUs Productions’ charities!
