MACE 2020: Clint Black of Pinnacle Entertainment Group

JustUs Productions is pleased to announce for MACE 2020, Clint Black will be running Savage Worlds Adventure Edition on Friday night and Saturday night.

The Con Game (Savage Worlds)

It’s time once again for the greatest fandom convention in the Southern Mid-North Carolina region during late autumn, MASE! The Meeting Assemblage Symposium Expo is celebrating it’s 24th (month) anniversary!

The convention heads, Ref and John, have pulled out all the stops with lots of special guests!

Game designers like Shaun Headsley whose RPG very nearly funded on Kickstarter!

And of course you know, Mac Murser, the famous voice actor and GM of Literal Roll. His cousin will be there! Plus special appearances from both the TV and movie Bat-Lad, Teen Mutate Ninjitsu Tortoises, and other famous shows…of replicas of their vehicles AND the people who made them!

It looks to be the best MASE ever! At least it better be, since it’s your job to insure it all runs smoothly, and Ref and John are counting on you.

Bring your tongue firmly planted in cheek for this romp through a convention where everything will most definitely not go as planned. You know, like every other con.

Please see our gaming schedule through OGRe.  You must be registered for the convention to register for games.

MACE 2019 Feature Guests: Teller & John Goff from PEG

MACE 2019 is proud to announce another gaming guests and game masters from Pinnacle Entertainment Group – the truly mysterious Teller and John Goff!  Their games will be up on OGRe soon..

John Goff

John’s been playing RPGs for over three decades. In spite of publishing dozens of works for various gaming systems, his first solo project, the dime novel Night Train for Pinnacle Entertainment’s Deadlands steampunk/western/horror RPG—also known among players as the “PC Death Train”—remains to this day probably his best-known work.

Over the years, he’s served as the line developer for the Deadlands and Conspiracy X roleplaying games, as well as the Showdown miniatures game. He’s written extensively for Pinnacle Entertainment, as well as Steve Jackson Games, White Wolf, FASA, and several other game companies. His first full-length novel, Deluge, was a finalist for the 2010 Origins Award for Best Game

Related Book. His RPG setting, Deadlands Noir, won the 2014 Silver Ennie for Best Setting.  In addition to his work in gaming, John has been an interrogator for the US Army, a firearms instructor, a bodyguard, and is currently a licensed private investigator.

John will be running the following games:

Deadlands: Dark Ages

The year is 863, but the past is not our own. The island of Britain is beset by bandits, warlords, and Danes, but there are far worse things hiding in the shadows of the deep, dark woods and ancient ruins. Take up the mantle of an ancient mystic, a cunning alchemist, or a Peacemaker-wielding paladin as you find yourself facing an evil created from the mists of legend. Deadlands Dark Ages uses Savage Worlds rules (5 players, no experience necessary, characters provided.)

Deadlands: Lost Colony Reloaded

It’s 2097, but the future is not our own. The Interspace Tunnel has collapsed, trapping hundreds of thousands of human colonists on the frontier world of Banshee. Hostile aliens, strange creatures, and things that go bump in the night all threaten the settlers as they try to survive in a world cut off from home. Join the fight as a steely-eyed gunslinger, a nanite-wielding breaker, a battle-hardened syker, or a mighty anouk warrior. Lost Colony Reloaded is set in Pinnacle Entertainment’s popular Deadlands universe and uses the Savage Worlds rules (5 players, no experience necessary, characters provided).

Teller

The mysterious Teller’s background is unknown, but sources say he’s played RPGs since the late 1970s. He has written a plethora of products for Pinnacle since 1997, including major setting books,  modules, sourcebooks, and convention adventures. As the Brand Manager for both the Hell on Earth and Weird Wars lines, he is able to indulge his love of all things post-apocalyptic and military history-related.

Teller will be running the following games:

A Blast from the Past (Weird Wars Now)

War…war never changes, especially in a place like Afghanistan, where only the technology distinguishes the combatants from one century to the next. Now you and your platoon mates are about to embark on a tour of duty at a remote outpost the likes of which you’ve never dreamed of before– maybe we should call them nightmares.

Something’s Fishy (Weird War Two)

It’s the fall of 1942, and the Battle of the Atlantic is taking a deadly toll of Allied shipping. The British High Command is desperate for some way to stop the U-boats from reaping their deadly harvest before England is strangled by the grey wolves of the sea. Several commando teams who were infiltrated into France to find and destroy hidden U-Boat pens have gone missing, and now it’s your turn to try and stop this menace to the war effort. Good luck.

MACE West 2019: Emberbright Returns!

Matt Holmquist returns to MACE West with the Living MACE campaign contest winner – Emberbright!  What is Emberbright.  A few years ago, we conducted a contest between some of the best GMs to create a world that MACE can call its own.  Matt was the final winner and his world, Emberbright represents a collection of ideas from those in the contest.

Matt and  JustUs Productions are continuing the development the setting that will act as our own living campaign setting. That means you can create a character for it at one event and play that character at other JustUs Productions events that host this living campaign. We are planning to run it in at least 3 different systems – Pathfinder, Savage Worlds, and D&D 5e.

Matt will be running his adventures in D&D 5e.

About Emberbright

Emberbright is a bleak fantasy world where humanity struggles as the subjugated species after a cataclysm of divine proportions.

A millennia ago, humankind nearly destroyed the world – an event later named the Unraveling. The greatest kingdoms lay to waste, and the largest race reduced to nomads. Those that did not devolve into tribal cults in the north, eeked out existence as servants to the Elf Mageocracy or as second rate members of the Ignis Combine. (Igni – goblinoid fire-elemental race). The gods, once protectors of man and their greatest strength, have gone silent. Lorekeepers of the remaining human settlements still espouse that faith will restore humanity to its previous glory. What few baronies managed to survive have started to form alliances. A rudimentary collection of city-states has laid the groundwork for the rise of the next great human kingdom. The balance of power may shift again. The Wizard Lords have enjoyed their time as the most powerful beings, and the Ignis Leaders would not give up their monopoly on trade and steam tech. What of the Icemen to the north… no one knows what agenda their seemingly random raids hold. The great cycle of the heavens nears another completion. What will the next thousand years hold? What part will you play in it?

Character Creation Guidelines

Here are are guidelines for creating your own characters for the Emberbright Living Campaign D&D 5e adventures. First, a reminder that this is a trial of home-brew characters so the rules may change between conventions and characters made during these beta phases may not be cannon after we finalize the rules. So please do not get too attached to these first characters.

  1. Characters will be made using the 27 point buy method. Normal restrictions in the Players Handbook apply.
  2. You must take the Class/Background packages for starting equipment. No Substitutions at this time.
  3.  The races currently allowed are Human (and the variant Human), Elf (High and Wood elves only), Igni (Rules here), Forged (Rules here) and Dwarves.
  4.  All classes in the Players Handbook are allowed at this time.
  5. All characters will need to be emailed to me by Nov. 1st. Once submitted and approved no changes will be allowed. Email them to me at matt.holmquist (AT) gmail.com with the subject Emberbright Character Submission and once I look it over I will reply with approved or any corrections needed questions/clarifications.

If you have any questions please feel free to email Matt with Emberbright in the subject and he will reply as quickly as I can and if needed I will update this with corrections and adjustments.
