About the Events
PP Games Demos
If you’ve ever wanted to try out Warmachine/Hordes or any of Privateer Press’ other games like Level 7, Infernal Machine, or Zombies Keep Out, we’ll have demos available for much of the weekend!
Iron Arena
Iron Arena is all about playing games and having fun. To that end, when you play games at MACE you earn Iron Arena points. You can also earn them by participating in events, playing people you don’t normally get to play, and accomplishing a few other assorted tasks related to PP games throughout the weekend. Why earn the points? Iron Arena is also all about fun prizes. You can redeem your points for special items such as Warmachine/Hordes templates, NIB models, signed posters, and limited edition models. It’s not just for Warmachine/Hordes too. There are also ways to earn points playing things like Level 7, Bodgermainia, or other PP games.
Boaster’s Challenge
If you’ve ever played Fable, you have an inkling of what this one is about. Players will compete in a 50pt Steamroller tournament with a non-standard twist: at the start of each game they’ll get to make boasts that handicap them in an attempt to earn Victory Points. Players also earn Victory Points from their Control Points and Army Points Destroyed, but they only earn the Victory Points from their boasts if they deliver a win. The player with the most Victory Points at the end of the tournament wins.
Midnight Madness: Highlander
This has become a favorite event hosted annually at MACE. All players face off in a free-forall on a single table using only a warcaster/warlock and a single warjack/warbeast. The winner takes home a special prize: a handcrafted blade worthy of a Highlander LARP.
About Warmachine
WARMACHINE players take on the role of warcasters as they lead their titanic forces into battle. Warcasters possess significant martial prowess of their own as well as having hardened warriors and magical spells to bring to bear. Players collect, assemble, and paint fantastically detailed models representing the varied warriors, machines, and creatures in their armies. WARMACHINE is fully compatible with its feral twin, the monstrous miniatures combat game of HORDES.
About Hordes
HORDES players take on the role of warlocks as they lead their wild forces into battle. Warlocks are formidable combatants in their own right, and their armies make use of both hardened and brutal warriors and packs of savage warbeasts, allowing them to contend on equal footing with the greatest armies of the Iron Kingdoms. Players collect, assemble, and paint fantastically detailed models representing the varied warriors, minions, and beasts in their hordes. HORDES is the feral twin of the steam-powered combat game of WARMACHINE, and the two are fully compatible.
